The Apache POI developers are pleased to announce the release of Apache POI 3.0.2 BETA2 which is one of the final steps before the 3.0.2 FINAL.

Apache POI is well-known in the Java field as a library for reading and writing OLE2 office file formats, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word.

The release contains a mixture of new features and bug fixes, compared to 3.0.1. A full list of changes is available in the change log: http://poi.apache.org/changes.html

The release is also available from the central Maven repository under Group ID “org.apache.poi”.

The Apache Lenya development community is very proud to announce the 2.0 release of Apache Lenya.

Apache Lenya is an Open Source Java/XML Content Management System and comes with revision control, site management, scheduling, search, WYSIWYG editors, and workflow.

Apache Lenya is based on Apache Cocoon (http://cocoon.apache.org). You can use Cocoon features such as robust caching, multi-channel output, its many connectivity options to quickly build customized solutions to meet your specific needs that are not already covered by Apache Lenya today.

The Apache Batik team is proud to announce the release of Apache Batik version 1.7, a Java-based toolkit for processing SVG.

The 1.7 release fixes a number of bugs brought to light with the 1.7beta1 release, and includes a few new features:

The Apache Cocoon Community is proud to announce the new release of Apache Cocoon.

Apache Cocoon is a web development framework built around the concept of separation of concerns (that is: allowing people to do their job without having to step on each other toes) and component-oriented web RAD.

The latest version is downloadable from http://cocoon.apache.org/mirror.cgi (Please use the mirrors to download the release - it might take a little bit more time until the latest release is available on all mirrors, so give the mirrors some time - approx. 24h to update.)

This release includes many bug fixes and smaller enhancements.

Starting the new year with a bang the Apache Wicket Team has released Apache Wicket 1.3. With this release comes a lot of great successes, but most of all the team wanted to express their wishes to everyone for a happy new year.

The Apache Portals Jetspeed team is pleased to announce the release of the version 2.1.3 of the Jetspeed Enterprise Portal.

Jetspeed is an Open Portal Platform and Enterprise Portal, written in open source to the Java Portlet API standard under the Apache license.

Apache Commons SCXML 0.7 is now available.

Commons SCXML provides a Java State Chart XML (W3C Working Draft) engine. Anything that can be represented as a UML state chart — business process flows, view navigation bits, interaction or dialog management, and many more — can leverage the Commons SCXML library.

Apache Tomcat JK 1.2.26 Web Server Connector released

The Apache Tomcat team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of version 1.2.26 of the Apache Tomcat Connectors.

It contains connectors, which allow a web server such as Apache HTTPD, Microsoft IIS and Sun Web Server to act as a front end to the Tomcat web application server.

This version contains a few enhancements and fixes a number of minor bugs of the previous versions.

The Apache Harmony project are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Harmony 5.0 Milestone 4.

Apache Harmony is the Java SE project of the Apache Software Foundation, working towards a full compliant implementation of the Java SE specification.

Harmony 5.0 Milestone 4 is the latest stable build with numerous enhancements including new JIT optimizations, functional and coverage enhancements throughout the class libraries, improved VM threading design, and support for full hardware addressability on 64 bit platforms.
