Clickbank has become synonymous with affiliate marketing in the past couple of years. This website offers a valuable service to both those with products who want to sell and those who want to sell but have no product.
Let’s look at selling your product through Clickbank first. If you have any type of informational product, you can set up an affiliate program through Clickbank and have hundreds of vendors selling it for you in no time flat. The setup fee for putting a product on Clickbank is $50, but once you have your account set up, you can add as many products as you wish. They charge you a percentage for each product sold through their affiliates.
The advantage to using Clickbank as your affiliate program organizer is that you don’t have to apply for an expensive merchant account, the website handles all payments. They also organize your affiliates so you can make sure that you pay your vendors on time, and can see at a glance how many people are selling your products.
Also, Clickbank has a pool of about 100,000 affiliates, so you do not have to struggle to attract two or three vendors to your site; they are already there, browsing for new opportunities. It can save the average webmaster a lot of time, as opposed to setting up your own affiliate program by writing your own code and then trying to find people to sell the products.
Now, if you are interested in becoming one of those 100,000 affiliates that Clickbank boasts of, you can sign up for free. Everything on Clickbank is an information product, so you can download them immediately once you pay.
The data base on the Clickbank website is massive, with thousands of products to choose from. Each one has vital information such as the price and the percentage that you, the affiliate will receive. Becoming an affiliate for any of these products is extremely easy; you simply need to plug your Clickbank ID into the code given for each product! The ID works with any product in the data base and instantly gives you access to any promotional materials that might be available for the product.
For example, you might decide to promote a cookbook on your website. Adding the code with your ID will allow visitors to click on the link to buy the cookbook, giving you a percentage. However, there are millions of cookbooks out there, so why would they buy this one and from you? This is where promo material comes in. The cookbook site might give affiliates sample recipes to post on the website, plus a fancy cover to display, as well as other information. All of this can be used by you to help create interest in the book.
Clickbank is a good option for both affiliates and affiliate marketers. It is certainly worth checking out if you have a product that you want to sell, as it is far more economical than many other options out there. And for affiliates, it offers a wide variety of products to choose from and instant access with just one ID.
If you have ever wondered how you can earn just a bit of extra cash, you might want to consider online auctions. Everyone has heard of EBay these days and hundreds of people are earning a decent living just selling items on auctions like it.
There is no reason why you can’t be earning as well through online auctions. All you need is a product or two to get started with and you are in business! Your first auctions items can come from your own attic or garage.
Look around your house and see if there is anything that you don’t use anymore that you could get a few bucks for. A digital camera is invaluable in online auctions. In order to maximize your bids, you need to have a photo of the object you are trying to sell. People like to know what they are getting. So take at least one shot of the item in its best light and put that up with your listing.
It really pays to shop around. While EBay is the biggest and best known auctions site, it is far from the only one. Big and powerful also means expensive, as many sellers have noticed in recent months. The prices to list your item have gone up drastically since the beginning of the popular auctions site, while other websites offering the same services will still let you post for free. Check out if the websites charge you for selling and how much. That will help you make your final decision. You could also try posting auctions on several different sites and see how they turn out.
When you have reached a conclusion as to which websites are best for your purposes, you will probably have run out of items to sell from your own home. Now it is time to start looking for more sources. There are several ways to go about this.
Garage sales, yard sales and the like are good places to find great items that just need a cleaning in order to sell well on auctions sites. However, it takes time to travel from one garage sale to the next and unless you really enjoy it, the hunt is not worth it. You will spend more time traveling, buying and cleaning than you will be paid. As they say, “time is money”!
Another option is to buy wholesale. There are dropshippers all over the world who will happily give you photos that you can post on your auctions site and when you get paid, you pay the dropshipper and give them the address of the buyer so they can send the item. The big disadvantage here, although you save time, is that dropshippers sometimes run out of things and you have no control over when an item goes out. If things go wrong, it is not your fault, but you’ll end up paying!
You could also buy several items packaged together from one auction, separate them and resell on an individual basis. This is probably the best way to go if you want to have full control and earn well.
It really is possible to earn with online auctions, you just have to know what you are doing. So get started today and start learning!

If you are like hundreds of thousands of people around the world, you are looking for a good way to earn money online. Everyone looking into online business opportunities comes across affiliate programs at some point or another, but only a few actually rise to the level where they are earning decent money, the majority quit before getting to that point.
Affiliate programs are like any other business; they require patience and hard work in order to make it work. Far too often, it is promoted as the ideal way to earn instant cash, which is just not true. In order to earn in affiliate programs, you need to plan for at least a year of low to nothing earnings. Perhaps you will actually earn more, but don’t go into this opportunity expecting to get rich overnight. That being said, you can certainly improve your chances with a few tips.
Build yourself a trustworthy reputation. There are hundreds of other people out there promoting the same affiliate programs links for products and services. People know what an affiliate programs link looks like and will go out of their way to not give you a commission if they think you are only in it for the money. So, to stand out from everyone else, you need to build yourself a reputation.
The best way to go about doing this is to establish a presence in your niche area. This can be anything you choose. Internet marketing is generally not a good idea, since that is the first niche most people head for. Let’s say you decide to focus on herb gardening. Instead of starting up a website to sell a variety of affiliate programs products, start off by writing a blog and offering good, quality information . . . for free!
That’s right, free. You might think this is a bit counter-productive, but remember that you are not going for the fast buck; you want people to keep giving you money and recommending their friends to give you money as well. When they see that you are not only doing this for the money, but to genuinely help people, readers will begin to send more people your way.
Once you have established your reputation as a guru or high quality information provider in your chosen area, you are ready to start monetizing. This could take up to six months to really get people to trust you, so be prepared. Then you can begin to recommend tried and true products that you think would help your readers. Don’t be afraid to throw in non-affiliate programs links as well, to keep things clean. The worst thing a blogger or webmaster can do is to switch from being helpful and free to suddenly trying to make money fast, at the expense of fans.
By following these steps and taking care not to fool your clients, you can make a living at affiliate programs. It is a good way to earn money while doing something you love and providing useful information to others.

I am always looking out for new ways for my readers to make more money online with less effort.
Recently I came across a new innovation that you need to hear about because it may affect the way you earn with your website in the very near future.
As you may know, major television networks are in trouble because their advertising revenue is dropping. They are losing market share at a dramatic pace.
For the first time in history, website owners are sharing in the ad revenue that was formerly spent with the giant TV networks.
Advertisers like Harley Davidson, HBO & Taco Bell are willing to pay you on 100% of your website traffic to make up for the loss of viewers that the big TV networks are experiencing.
Do your online business a huge favor. Stop what you are doing for just a moment and learn how you can earn revenue on 100% of your website traffic.
This is a FREE opportunity that is taking the advertising community by storm!
This is bigger than radio, television and all other forms of media combined!

You see banner advertising everywhere online. They are those wide picture bands that stream across the top of WebPages, or down the sides, claiming that you can change your life by clicking on the photo. The great thing about banner advertising is that you, the average webmaster, can earn money with them!
There are a few different ways to bring in the cash with banner advertising. The first is to take on paid advertisers. These are companies that pay you to have their banner on your webpage. They provide you with the code and you place the banner advertising on your website. The price often depends on the placement of the ad on your page. For example, the highest payment would come from a banner ad at the very top of your page since this is where most people look first. A banner at the bottom will not earn you as much.
Banner advertising from third parties pay in one of two manners, per click or per impression. Pay per click is slightly higher than per impression. This is due to the fact that you could have a million page hits and only three or four clicks on the banner ad. However, although higher in pay, the pay per click program requires that your visitors actually take an action upon seeing the ad, or you receive nothing. For this reason, some webmasters prefer the pay per impression. Every time the page loads with the ad on it, you receive a small amount of money.
The second method of earning money is to promote affiliate programs through banner advertising. This requires that you sign up for as an affiliate for a product that you want to promote. You will be given the necessary codes to place the banner you choose (there are often several options) on your WebPages.
Affiliate banner advertising can be very productive in the way of earning, but they are more difficult to earn with. To get your money from the average affiliate program, you must have visitors that not only click on the banner, but perform a specific action upon being transferred to the ads website. This usually means buying a product or signing up for more information or paying for a membership of some sort. Obviously, many people will click the banner, but never pay a dime, leaving you with nothing.
With affiliate banners, you can actually write a review on your website, directing people to the great offer within the banner ad. This will raise the possibilities of having your visitors actually complete the offer. If they do, you will earn far more than simple third party ads. Affiliates often pay up to hundreds of dollars, depending on the product they are selling.
The last type of banner advertising is from Google Adsense. These pay you per click, with the rate depending on the popularity of the keyword. Adsense is a rather complicated subject and it is best to research it before using.
Banner advertising is a great way to add a bit of extra income to your website and they are free to set up, so there is no reason why you shouldn’t start putting them on your site today!
In this article we gave you a step-by-step plan for selecting the keywords and key phrases most likely to drive targeted traffic to your site. Here are some tips on avoiding keywords that are too common, using branded keywords, and knowing what to do when your keywords are likely to be misspelled. Finally, there’s a summary checklist to verify that you are on the right path to leading prequalified visitors to your web site.Do not use keywords or key phrases that are too broad. Use modifiers to make generic keywords and key phrases more specific. For example, if your site offers insurance-related services, you might want to use health insurance quotes or auto insurance quotes. To prequalify your visitors, your keywords and key phrases should identify your niche.
Let’s say you’re in the entertainment business. By choosing entertainment news, entertainment jobs, or entertainment center, you identify your niche and attract the kind of traffic you want. This is important no matter what you sell, be it apparel, books, health services, furniture, business services, or jewelry. A smaller, targeted audience is almost certain to result in more conversions than a large volume of traffic that got to your site thinking you were selling something you don’t!
Words such as software, Internet, cars, and radios are too general and will yield nothing but looky loos. But key phrases such as encrypted security software, Internet writing services, Ford Mustang two-door, and Bose wave AM/FM radio will attract visitors who are looking for exactly what you’re selling.
Not only that, single words and search engines don’t mix. Do you use single words in everyday situations when you need something? When you walk into a restaurant and the waiter asks what you’d like to eat, you dont just say, “Food.” Search engines can’t read your mind either and have a very tough time returning relevant search results on single-word searches. A searcher will get fed up with wading through hundreds of result pages to find an e-commerce software solution for his or her auction site. He or she won’t type in a search for software; it will be something like e-commerce auction software solution.
Do not use trademark names other than your own in your key phrases. If you are a start-up shooting for the top and decide to use a competitor’s name, watch out! Stay away from using other parties’ trademarks or product names in your key phrases. On the other hand, if you really do want the term Kelley Blue Book, contact Kelley and request permission. Whether you’ll be granted permission depends on potential affiliation. If you’re a vendor for a product, it’s quite possible the manufacturer will give you permission to use its name to promote and sell more product. However, trying to benefit from the use of another party’s trademark is disingenuous and will likely be met with significant resistance and legal exposure. Using another company’s trademark or product name to profit from its brand is totally unacceptable and breaches several federal trademark-protection laws.
If you are branded, include your company name in your key phrases. RadioShack, for example, should use key phrases such as RadioShack computers, RadioShack electronic components, RadioShack telephones, and so on. On the other hand, if RadioShack were interested in recruiting new employees, it should use key phrases such as work for RadioShack, RadioShack jobs nationwide, and executive RadioShack positions to recruit at specific levels of human resources. This way, RadioShack would be using its brand to find the very best people, people interested in working for RadioShack.
Remember that people misspell search words. A commonly used strategy that can be very effective is to select keywords and key phrases that incorporate likely misspellings. If you offer bookkeeping services, be sure to select bookeeping as one of your keywords and use this misspelling in some of your key phrases.
Following all the strategies covered this week and last should help point prequalified visitors to your web site. In summary, here’s your short list for developing your best key phrases:

One of The Best Affiliate Programs on The Net
DealDotCom offers a two-tier affiliate program. When you refer others to DealDotCom and they get a free account, they are marked in the system as having been referred by you. Anything that they buy will nets you a 35% commission. Unlike other affiliate programs that place a time limit your commission (like AuctionAds’ 5% for 6 months), the DealDotCom commission is forever. That’s right, forever. It doesn’t matter if they buy something tomorrow, next week, or fifty years from now – you’re going to get paid. What’s more, anyone that they refer to DealDotCom goes on your second tier. Anything people on your second tier buy nets you a 15% commission, forever.
DealDotCom pays its affiliates 30 days after the end of the month by PayPal. They can also send you a check via snail mail if you’re still living in the dark ages. This is by far one of the best affiliate deals we have ever came across and we highly recommend you take advantage of it. We will be adding DealDotCom to my recommended money makers.

In part I, we introduced the concept of social networking sites and how to begin online networking. In part II, we detail some more specific networking and marketing techniques.
Keep it Real
Just as with every new communication technology, there are those who use the medium in overbearing, unwanted ways. Social networking sites are no different. The key term here is “networking,” give and take. According to Bob Baker, author of MySpace Music Marketing, social networking success stories have one thing in common: “They’re all about the ping-pong effect ? It’s you sharing yourself with and getting to know dozens, and then perhaps hundreds of people. In turn, those people mention you to their friends.”
It’s NOT about posting, sending and otherwise spamming hundreds or thousands of others. Because interaction is a key feature of these sites, the potential for backlash is enormous. Social networking sites are back-and-forth communication forums, not broadcast media. Annoy or abuse people and they’ll tell the world.
So what can you do on these sites? How exactly does one share his/herself and get to know people?
Basic Online Marketing Principles
There are certain basic online marketing principles that apply when networking online. Among them:
- First and foremost, no spam. Communication should be individual and meaningful, not bulk, impersonal nonsense.
- On a related note, do not use automated software to post generic comments or messages in bulk.
- When emailing or messaging, unobtrusively remind people of what you do through your signature. Include your name; clickable Website URL; tagline or short mission statement; and/or other contact information in the signature.
Finding Connections
—– Sidebar on Terminology. Those you connect with are termed differently across different social networking sites. “Friends,” “connections,” your “network” and “subscribers” all describe online associates. Here, I use “network” and “connections.” —–
A critical component of successful networking (both in the physical and cyber worlds) is finding quality connections. On social networking sites, first think about the types of people you want to connect with (see “Whom to Interact With” in part I). Then use a variety of methods to find them:
- Use the site’s search features to find connections by their psychographic or demographic features (religion, age, gender, geographic location, interests, likes/dislikes, etc.)
- Each time you find a new connection, look for additional connections in her or his network.
- Study comments on your connections’ pages ? or those outside your network with similar interests ? for potential new connections.
Approaching People to Become a Part of your Online Network
After finding potential connections, approach them about becoming part of your network. Ways to do this include:
- Send a friend request to each.
- Post thoughtful, relevant comments on their pages (which also creates new links to your page).
- Return comments on your page with relevant ones on the commenter’s’ page.
- When contacting someone, send a private message and leave a comment on her or his page.
Working your Network
The flip side of finding potential connections is having potential connections find you. There are several things you can do to become more approachable:
- Your page is the first thing people see when researching you, so keep it appealing. Regularly review comments others have left and delete irrelevant or crude remarks.
- Add new content to your page often, giving people a reason to visit regularly.
- Set aside time to respond to comments and messages.
Like all worthwhile business relationships, online networks must be nurtured. Make the effort to do so, and over time you will reap the rewards.

Social networking online is one of today’s hottest trends. Many, however, wonder how social networking can help their careers or businesses and exactly how to get started with this online marketing technique. Here in part 1, we will help you get started. Next, in part 2, we will explain some techniques for expanding your presence and building a quality network of online contacts.
What is Online Social Networking?
From a conceptual standpoint, online social networking is no different than traditional networking and socializing. You meet people and get to know them by sharing information about each other. Those you like and/or share interests with become part of your “network.” The marketing magic kicks in when those in your network start talking about you. Your reputation spreads by word-of-mouth.
The Internet and related technology have taken networking to the next level, expanding each individual’s reach and exposure through online marketing. Where traditionally people gather in person to network ? at the same time and place as others ? members of online networking groups are not limited by time or geography. Each group member can interact 24/7 from any location worldwide. Consequently, online networking techniques are very different from in-person networking.
How To Interact Through Social Networking
Ways to interact are numerous. The first order of business is to decide what your marketing goals are with respect to social networking. While “finding new friends” is a sufficient personal reason for social networking, business marketing goals need to be more specific. Are you an individual looking for a job or freelance work? Do you want to gain exposure for your product, brand or company? Are you looking for potential employees or contractors? Do you want to get prospects interested enough to visit your Website or contact you? Your goals will dictate what you put on your profile and social networking home page, as well as who you look for to become part of your network.
After you’ve decided on your purpose for online networking, choose which social networking Website(s) you will participate in.
Where to Network Online
You can find a comprehensive list of social networking sites here, at Wikipedia. I am familiar with those listed below. They will give you an idea of the range of opportunities you will find at social networking Websites:
Yahoo! 360 (360.yahoo.com): Yahoo!’s social networking site is in beta as of this writing. The unique feature here is your Yahoo! 360 space is cross-promoted with other Yahoo! products, such as with your reviews on Yahoo! Local and your Yahoo! Groups. Like many social networking sites, you can also host a blog on the server.
MySpace (myspace.com): This is the mother of social networking sites. Originally dominated by teens, there are reports of the “graying of myspace” as older people and businesses are also networking on the site. It may be worth your while to spend some time there to see if your target customers hang out there.
LinkedIn (linkedin.com): LinkedIn is excellent for professional, career-related online marketing because it focuses exclusively on business and professional networking. You will find interfaces to connect with classmates or colleagues (both past and present); find service providers or clients; post or find a job; and ask or answer business-related questions.
Gather (gather.com): This network incorporates user publications (in the form of articles) and a points reward system into the usual social networking activities.
Each social networking Website has it’s own “personality” and a different mix of people to interact with. Before signing up, go to each site and explore a bit ? search on keywords related to your goals and interests, check out the different groups, the activity level, etc. This will help you determine if a site will be beneficial to you. Once you find a site that interests you, establish your presence by signing up and filling in the questions for your profile and site home page. Once that is done, you are ready to interact.
Whom To Interact With
The people you want to associate with (i.e. make “friends” or be “connected” to) will depend largely on your goals. There are several types of people you will want to consider contacting. Each can help you in different ways, so consider looking for more than one type of “target friend:”
Customers and Consumers: People who will benefit from what you do, consume or buy your products or services, and rave about you to their friends.
Others Within Your Industry: People with whom you can network, share resources and cross-promote with.
Media and Publishers: People who work for, or can influence, publications you would like to be mentioned in (e-zines, newspapers, Websites, etc).
Consultants: People who may want to hire or purchase products from you.
Event, Company or Organization representatives: People who operate businesses and associations that support your industry.
How To Find Friends
A few people will find you based on your profile, but you will want to actively seek out quality friends. You can start to find friends by joining groups related to your expertise, that have members who match your target friend profile or interest you in general. You can also approach individuals and ask them to become a friend and/or part of your network.
In part 2 we will detail some more specific networking and marketing techniques. Until then, explore your social networking sites, get comfortable with the features and find a few friends.

The growth of the affiliate marketing industry has been astounding as of late, and that means that many new people are making the plunge every day. This has also lead to an increase in the amount of affiliate marketing training materials permeating the market.
So what gives?
Affiliate marketing is simply redirecting traffic, isn’t it? Isn’t that what makes it so easy to do and easy to be successful at?
In a word: No!
There is a lot more to affiliate marketing then just setting up an affiliate account, dropping your website into cyberspace, and sitting back as the cash rolls in. Yes, it can be easy, and it is definitely creative and fun, but it is a business, like any other, and you need to be qualified for the position and have a good handle on what you’re doing in order to survive.
There are many affiliate marketers out there who simply aren’t making the grade, and the reason is that they don’t have the proper training to be successful at their jobs. Anyone who is absolutely serious about being a success has three options: training, training, and more training!
But where to begin? Well, there are several ways to receive this kind of training. First of all, trial and error may be one way to go, as many affiliate marketers are self taught.
That is a time consuming affair though, with no guarantee of success. A better way to go would be through the use of affiliate marketing manuals, online tutorials, affiliate marketing training courses, and of course, the great affiliate conferences held every year in different parts of the world.
Read a Book!
One of the best and easiest ways to retain the basic fundamental principles of affiliate marketing is to go down to your bookstore and grab up a couple books on the subject. Many affiliate marketers have found a way to subsidize their income as instructors and novelists, since they are spending a lot of time writing articles for their websites anyway.
There is little in the way of professional training in affiliate marketing, for example, you can’t go to university to become an expert on it, but many of these authors have run the self-taught method explained above and achieved a certain level of success.
Learn from their successes and mistakes! Read their books and take notes. See how they have found success in some areas and how they relate to the other books you have. Cross referencing is a great way to get a feel for the fundamentals of affiliate marketing, as you will start to see specific patterns emerge in the training methods of each book.
Also, you will be able to trim away the extra fat that may be part of each authors affiliate style, and come up with your own goals and direction based on the knowledge they have imparted to you.
If reading a book isn’t getting you anywhere or you’d like to see more, there is always the online tutorial route for affiliate marketing training.
Getting Extra Help through Cyberspace
Another great way to get he affiliate marketing training you need is to go through an online tutorial. In much the same way as a book will help you learn the basics and get the information you really need, online tutorials can show you how real affiliate marketing can be successful in a dynamic web presence complete with working models and examples.
In addition, many of these tutorials will offer links to great savings and deals on important affiliate products such as web site hosting, template design, and domain name registration to get the eager affiliate marketing student up and running.
Many of these affiliate marketing online tutorials are designed and kept up by successful affiliate marketers (some of whom may have written books that you should already be reading!) and you can learn from their mistakes and successes. Also, since web copy is generally simpler than book formats, expect the information you gather from an online tutorial to be brisk, to the point, and perfect for taking notes.
Back to School, Affiliate Marketing Style!
If you feel that you haven’t learned enough from reading books and checking out online tutorials, then you are in exactly the right frame of mind for being an affiliate marketing success. It is time to move on to where real success begins: the classroom.
Now, this classroom can be in a real class, as some successful affiliate marketers hold actual marketing lessons for their students, and, depending where you live, this may or may not be an option for you.
On the other hand, there are plenty of marketers out there who offer their affiliate marketing training courses as downloadable e-courses, something you can do at home in your spare time just like distance learning for many universities!
Finally, after all of the hard work and effort you have put into your education, and you feel you can’t possibly learn any more without going into the world of affiliate marketing yourself, it’s time to relax, have some fun, and really get down to business: it’s time to attend and affiliate marketing event.
Affiliate summits and conferences are places for industry professionals to get together, share a few laughs, eat, drink, and introduce themselves to other parts of the affiliate marketing industry.
This means that web designers, hosting companies, and businesses looking to expand their affiliate marketing presence are all mingling with affiliate marketers themselves, shaking hands and making friendships that will be beneficial to all involved.
Affiliate marketers can also learn about changes to laws and policies, new technologies, and better strategies for tackling affiliate marketing problems. They will be exposed to the same people who they will be in contact with when they start their affiliate marketing strategies, and this in turn can improve their relationships and business prospects across the board.
Plus, it is a chance to become a member of an exciting and dynamic close-knit group of people who have come together and formed an environment of support in an industry that leaves many untrained victims by the wayside.
