E-Pen is the first automated solution for digitizing handwritten applications in the insurance industry. It enables insurance agents to instantly convert handwritten applications into digital text with a compact ballpoint pen-sized device that uploads information directly to USHealth Group’s (USHG) computer database.

According to its creator, E-Pen streamlines the policy issue process and speeds up verification for new business applications.

“Following the tremendous success of our E-Pen test launch last fall, USHG has developed a high-speed solution that migrates the application process from pen and paper to instantaneous electronic records,” said Ben Cutler, USHG chairman and CEO. “With E-Pen, it only takes a few seconds to write a new policy whether the agent is meeting face to face with a client or handling the sale and application process via phone.”
